Terms

These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of tankotastic.com (the “Site”) and any purchase you make from Tankotastic (“we”, “us”, “Tankotastic”). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

1. Who we are

Tankotastic is an e-commerce service operated by Said Tijani Ben, an individual trader based in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Full business contact details are listed on the Shipping & Returns page under the Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice (特定商取引法に基づく表記).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country) to place an order. By ordering, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Orders & acceptance

  • Placing an order is an offer to buy, not a confirmed sale.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order — for example, if a product is out of stock, priced incorrectly, or if we can’t legally ship to your country.
  • A sale is only finalized when we dispatch the order and send you tracking.
  • If we cancel your order, we’ll refund you in full within 3 business days.

4. Pricing & currency

  • Prices are shown in USD by default; we auto-detect your country and may display prices in your local currency for convenience.
  • The final charge is processed in USD unless otherwise indicated at checkout. Your bank handles currency conversion.
  • Prices exclude shipping and any customs duty / import tax charged by your country.
  • We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If an error affects your order, we’ll notify you before dispatch and let you cancel.

5. Payment

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number.
  • By providing payment details, you authorize us (and Stripe) to charge the total order amount.
  • If a payment fails, your order is not placed.

6. Shipping, delivery, and customs

  • We ship from Tokyo via EMS (Japan Post) or DHL.
  • Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Customs clearance can add delays beyond our control.
  • You are responsible for any customs duty, VAT, or import tax charged by your country.
  • If a package is refused at customs or returned due to an incorrect address you provided, we can refund the product cost but not the shipping.

7. Returns, refunds, and food safety

  • Food products cannot be returned once dispatched (food-safety and customs regulation).
  • We will refund or replace items that are damaged in transit, wrong, or missing — report within 7 days of delivery.

8. Product descriptions & allergens

  • We describe products accurately to the best of our ability, using information printed on the Japanese package and observable facts.
  • Colors, packaging, and specific mystery-box contents may vary — the surprise is part of the product.
  • Allergen information is listed on each product page when printed on the Japanese package. If you have a serious allergy, email us before ordering for a photograph of the specific package’s ingredients panel. We are not liable for allergic reactions where the allergen was listed on the Japanese package or the Site.

9. User conduct

When using the Site you agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Site
  • Submit false information during checkout
  • Use automated scripts to scrape, harvest, or bulk-order
  • Infringe our trademarks, copyrights, or those of our suppliers

We may suspend or ban accounts / orders that violate these terms.

10. Intellectual property

  • All Site content (text, logo, layout, photography taken by us) is owned by Tankotastic or licensed to us.
  • Product photographs where used with permission belong to the respective manufacturers (Calbee, Yaokin, Nestlé Japan, Ezaki Glico, Tohato, etc.).
  • You may not copy, reproduce, or republish Site content without written permission.

11. Warranties & disclaimers

The Site and products are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind beyond what’s required by law.

We do not warrant that: – The Site will be uninterrupted or error-free – Products will meet your personal taste preferences – Delivery will always be on time (shipping carriers are outside our control)

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable consumer-protection law in your country.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (lost profits, emotional distress, etc.) arising from use of the Site or products.
  • We are not liable for delays, damage, or loss caused by third-party carriers, customs authorities, or force majeure events (natural disaster, strikes, postal suspension, pandemic, etc.).

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Tankotastic against any claim arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

16. Governing law & jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
  • Any dispute will be resolved in the Tokyo District Court (東京地方裁判所) as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to sue locally.
