Shipping

How fast will my order arrive? I pack within 48 hours of the order (usually same-day). EMS from Tokyo reaches most countries in 3–7 business days.

Where do you ship? 150+ countries. If the checkout accepts your address, I can ship there. Some countries have customs restrictions on food imports — those are flagged at checkout.

Do I pay customs / import duty? Depends on your country and order size. Most orders under $50 pass through duty-free in most countries. Larger orders (especially to EU/UK/Canada) may trigger import VAT. You’re responsible for duties on your end — if a package is refused at customs, I can’t refund shipping.

Is shipping tracked? Yes. Every order gets an EMS tracking number by email within 24 hours of dispatch.

What if my package is lost or damaged? Email me with your order number and a photo (if damaged). EMS insures up to ¥20,000 per package. I’ll either reship or refund — your call.


Product

Are these snacks authentic? Yes. Everything is bought on Tokyo shelves at standard retail — no gray-market, no counterfeits, no “inspired by” knockoffs. Packages are in Japanese because that’s how Japan sells them.

How fresh is fresh? Most snacks have 3–6 months of shelf life at time of dispatch. I don’t ship anything with less than 60 days remaining.

Are there allergens? Every product page lists the major allergens on the Japanese package (wheat, milk, egg, peanut, shrimp, etc.). If you have a serious allergy, please email me first — I can photograph the specific package’s ingredients panel before shipping.

Is this vegetarian / vegan / halal / kosher? Japanese snacks are often not labeled for these diets. I do my best to note obvious cases on product pages, but double-check the ingredients panel yourself for anything critical.

Can I request a specific flavor? Umaibo and dagashi assortments ship randomly assorted — I can’t guarantee specific flavors. For single-flavor items (KitKat matcha, Jagariko salad, etc.), what you see is what ships.


Mystery Boxes

What’s in a mystery box? Depends on the box. The size (number of items) is guaranteed; the contents are hand-picked weekly based on what’s trending, seasonal, or limited-edition in Japan right now.

Can I customize my mystery box? Not yet. The whole point is the surprise — but if you have a strict allergy, email me before ordering and I’ll steer around it.

Will I get duplicates? Within a single box, no duplicates (unless you order the 30-pack Umaibo, where the whole point is variety across flavors that sometimes repeat).


Payments

What payment methods do you accept? Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB), Apple Pay, Google Pay — all via Stripe. I don’t touch your card number directly.

What currency am I paying in? You see prices in your local currency at checkout (auto-detected). The charge on your statement will be in USD by default unless your bank auto-converts.

Can I get a refund? Yes — see Shipping & Returns for the full policy. Short version: damaged / wrong / missing items = full refund. Change of mind before shipping = full refund. Food items can’t be returned once shipped, for food-safety reasons.


About the business

Who runs Tankotastic? One person, based in Tokyo. I pack every order by hand.

Is this a subscription? No. It’s a one-time store. Every order is one-off — buy what you want, when you want. (I may add a subscription later. Maybe.)

Can I sell Tankotastic products in my shop? Not set up for wholesale yet. Email and I’ll keep you on a list.
